Export for Growth supports Somerset based oil and gas sector specialist to win largest project ever overseas.
Internationally renowned specialists in the design and manufacture of lifesaving and fire safety equipment storage, Jo Bird & Co. of Highbridge, Somerset has been awarded a £600,000 contract for an Inpex owned project, through its international distributors. Inpex are Japan’s largest oil and gas exploration and production company.
Jo Bird & Co. is celebrating its thirtieth anniversary in 2016 and was recently awarded The Queen's Award for Enterprise in International Trade.
Working with distributors in Singapore and Hong Kong, the order will be shipped to Korea where it will be fitted on a Central Processing Facility and Floating Production Storage and Offloading Facility which will be later installed on the Ichty’s project to find liquefied natural gas, 125 miles offshore from the Western Australian coast.
